The Father willed that his blessed and glorious Son, whom he gave to us and who was born for us, should through his own blood offer himself as a sacrificial victim on the altar of the cross. This was to be done not for himself through whom all things were made, but for our sins.
All our efforts to guard and guide our children may just get in the way of the one thing they need most from us: to be deeply loved yet left alone so they can try a new skill, new slang, new style, new flip-flops. So they can trip a few times, make mistakes, cross them out, try again, with no one keeping score.

I like to see the difference between good and evil as kind of like the foul line at a baseball game. Its very thin, its made of something very flimsy like lime, and if you cross it, it really starts to blur where fair becomes foul and foul becomes fair.

Im not aware of a cadence when writing, but I hear it after. I write in longhand, and that helps. Youre closer to it, and you have to cross things out. You put a line through it, but its still there. You might need it. When you erase a line on a computer, its gone forever.
