I would argue that a truly developed country would be beyond Presidents and Kings. In a world with some semblance of equality, each liberal-minded woman, each gay person, and indeed almost every person could be their own President. In a world of equals, what real service does a ruler provide?

I'm sorry, was that homophobic? No-I think it was, 'cause I hear that a lot. Dave, What?, You're talking about being gay. You probably secretly are gay. And I'm like listen voice in my head, I'm not! HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU WOULDN'T LIKE IT? HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU WOULDN'T LIKE IT? I know I wouldn't like it, other scarier voice in my head! Cause one time while making a sandwich, a cucumber went up my ass. Three times.

I never felt I had anything to hide. I never felt being gay was anything to be ashamed of, so I never felt apologetic. I didnt have issues with it, didnt grow up with any religion, so I didnt have any religious, you know, issues to deal with as far as homosexuality is concerned. So, I accepted it very easily. For me, it wasnt that big a deal.
It takes a lot of guts to come out to your friends and family. For most gay people, coming out is the most traumatic experience in their life because of the worry about the backlash: Whats going to happen? Are my parents going to accept me? Are my friends going to accept me? Are my sisters and brothers going to accept me?
