I think that intelligence is such a narrow branch of the tree of life - this branch of primates we call humans. No other animal, by our definition, can be considered intelligent. So intelligence cant be all that important for survival, because there are so many animals that dont have what we call intelligence, and theyre surviving just fine.
It was my duty to shoot the enemy, and I dont regret it. My regrets are for the people I couldnt save: Marines, soldiers, buddies. Im not naive, and I dont romanticize war. The worst moments of my life have come as a SEAL. But I can stand before God with a clear conscience about doing my job.
